Abstract

In diesem Artikel wird die E-Mail-Kommunikation in Helene Hegemanns Roman Axolotl Roadkill
(erschienen im Jahr 2009) untersucht. Der Schwerpunkt der Analyse liegt darauf zu analysieren,
ob die linguistischen Kriterien, die für die übliche screen-to-screen-E-Mail-Kommunikation genutzt
werden, auf die Verwendung von E-Mail-Kommunikation im Roman übertragbar sind oder ob
sich Unterschiede aufzeigen lassen, die darauf zurückzuführen sind, dass es sich um E-Mails
innerhalb eines gedruckten Textes handelt. Durch die Analyse des formalen Aufbaus der E-Mail-Kommunikation und der linguistischen Kriterien des Maildiskurses in Axolotl Roadkill wird diese
Frage zu beantworten versucht.

This paper examines the e-mail communication included in Helene Hegemann’s 2009 novel Axolotl
Roadkill.The focus within the analysis is to identify whether the linguistic means used within the
e-mail communication largely correspond to the means in screen-to-screen-e-mail communication,
or whether we can spot differences, since we deal with e-mail communication laid down in a
printed book. It is being tried to answer this question by analyzing the formal buildup of the e-mail
communication, and by analyzing the linguistic means within the e-mail discourse in Axolotl
Roadkill.
