Abstract

Anhand eines Textes von Rainer Maria Rilke aus dem »Stundenbuch« (dem »Buch vom mönchischen
Leben«) wird verdeutlicht, dass zunächst der Kontext, d. h. das Textgewebe zueinander,
sodann der Subtext, d. h. das rhythmische Gefüge im Gedicht, und schließlich der Rollentext, d. h.
die Spur des Autors/Sprechers im Text, jeweils unterschiedliche Deutungen in Sprechversuchen
motivieren. Das Ergebnis besteht in der Ermutigung, Gedichte als Sprechpartituren neu zu entdecken.

On the basis of a text by Rainer Maria Rilke from the »Book of Hours« (the »Book about Monastic
Life«), an attempt is made to illustrate how different aspects of a text each call for different ways
of interpretative reading. The first aspect is the context, that is the relationship of the different
parts of the text to each other, the second aspect is the subtext or the rhythmic structure of the
poem, the third and final aspect is the role text which derives from the signs left by the author or
the speaker in the text. The result is intended to encourage readers to discover poetry anew as a
kind of vocal score.
